Porte Cailhau

35 meters high and majestic, the Porte Cailhau gate is part of the remaining vestiges of the ancient city walls. Dear to the heart of the Bordelais, it is one of the most beautiful of the six gates of Bordeaux, facing both the quays and the Place du Palais, and more broadly, the Saint-Pierre district. Regularly open to the public, Porte Cailhau offers a magnificent panorama of the Pont de Pierre bridge from under its high conical roofs. Go under it or around it too, to observe and discover its sculptures and the thoroughness of the restoration work. Architecture lovers will be delighted!
