Le Diplomate is a young brand of wine created in association with five exceptional estates. The elegant and original line drawings on the labels depict the main historical monuments of Bordeaux. These organic wines take their name from Sir Kenelm Digby, an English glassmaker and diplomat who is considered the inventor of the current Bordeaux wine bottle.
The Le Diplomate range of wines is a journey between the two banks of Bordeaux. The left bank dominated by the Cabernet Sauvignon grape and the right bank by the Merlot.
They are part of an ecological approach that pushes the areas to make great wines, all the while preserving the “terroirs” (soil). Their mantra is “beau, bien et bon”, or in plain English, “excellent taste well made”.
Le Diplomate Graves 2016 is an organic wine that transports us to a terroir consisting of pebbles, clay and limestone. Kept for 16 months in barrels it has an intense brownish-red colour. On the nose, its aromas of red fruits give us hints of its rich fruity flavour. Confirmed by the palate, tastes of cherry adds roundness and restrained acidity that makes this wine an excellent companion to salads, roasted poultry, cold cuts and cheeses. The Diplomate Graves 2016 is a well-balanced wine of good quality that only remains to be enjoyed.
